History of Coastal Care Cleaning
Our Story: Faith, Family, and a Legacy of Care
Our journey as a cleaning company in Venice FL began in 1988 with my mom, Sherry Mathews.
She was a single mother raising me when I was just 2 years old, doing whatever she could to provide a better life. What started as “Sherry’s Cleaning” wasn’t built from a business plan—it was built from necessity, faith, and a determination to never give up.
My mom didn’t just clean homes. She cared for people. She treated every client like family and believed that if she worked hard, stayed honest, and went above and beyond, everything else would fall into place. And it did.
Starting in Venice, Florida, her reputation quickly spread. One client turned into another, and before long, she was serving homes throughout Venice and into Englewood. She became known for her attention to detail and her ability to leave a home not just looking clean—but feeling clean.
As I grew older, I began working alongside her. What started as helping my mom turned into something much bigger. Over the years, I saw firsthand the impact she had on people’s lives—not just through cleaning, but through the way she loved and served others.
We continued to grow through referrals, expanding into new areas and taking on new types of cleanings. Everything we learned came through experience—figuring things out, improving, and always striving to do better.
In early 2024, our journey took a difficult turn when my mom was diagnosed with stomach cancer. Even through that season, she continued working as long as she physically could. Her strength, her work ethic, and her faith in God never wavered.
Before she passed in March of 2025, I made her a promise—that I would continue what she started and grow it into something even greater.
Today, I carry that promise forward as the owner of Coastal Care Cleaning.
What began as a small, family-run business has grown into a structured company with multiple teams, modern systems, and a clear vision for the future. We now serve dozens of recurring clients across Venice and surrounding areas, and we are continuing to expand.
But no matter how much we grow, the foundation remains the same.
We are still built on faith.
We are still guided by honesty and hard work.
And we still believe in treating every client like family.
This business is more than a company to me. It’s my mom’s legacy. It’s a reflection of everything she poured into it—and everything I’m committed to continuing.
And with God leading the way, we’re just getting started.
